Routine Care & Oral Hygiene
Oral hygiene and routine dental care are the foundation of oral health. Oral hygiene starts at home and should always be supplemented with a visit to the dentist for routine examinations and cleanings twice per year.
To prevent tooth decay, periodontal disease, and other oral health issues, it’s important to brush your teeth twice a day with a soft-bristled toothbrush, floss daily, and of course, visit your dentist on a regular basis.

3 Steps to Maintaining Good Oral Health
Work with your dentist to create a customized oral health plan.
You should see your dentist at least twice per year and work with him or her to create a customized oral health plan that fits your needs. At every routine visit, your dentist will screen you for any potential oral health issues and perform a thorough teeth cleaning. This is a great time to ask questions and get the information you need.
Brush and floss properly every day.
At home, you should brush your teeth and tongue twice per day with a soft-tufted toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste to remove harmful plaque and bacteria. It’s also important to remember to floss between all of your teeth at least once per day.
Check your mouth.
In between visits to your dentist, be sure to check your mouth and gums for any concerning changes. Early signs of gum disease include red or sensitive gums, bleeding when you brush or floss, loose or sensitive teeth, or a change in the appearance of your teeth and gums. If you notice any of these signs, be sure to get in touch with us as soon as possible.
